John married Mabel Florence Johnston who gave birth to a son. Mabel died 3 weeks after childbirth (11 August 1910) in Alton, South Taranaki. She is buried at Patea

They had a son – Henry Thomas Thatcher Gunn. B:11.08.1910 Otaki Taranaki 1910/13735

Tragically, Mabel dies 3 weeks after child birth on 8 September 1910 aged 33. She is buried in plot 740 Block G Row 10 of the Patea Cemetery. (Add picture of grave stone)

This son, Henry, was to remain and raised by with Mabel’s family

Henry married Freda Mary Duffy.
